The 1980s just do not look the same from the 21st Century as they did in the 1970s. What was promised as a sleek sub-orbital interceptor, turned out to be yet another tubby 'design by commitee' failure. But the 1980's loss is our gain.
This model of the Iron Wombat requires just a bit more skill than the other GOONYs as it involves a paper cockpit, as well as cutting and piecing a balsa nosecone to get the proper Ram-Jet look. We rate it at Skill Level 3. As with other Retro Bash kits, the basis is a Baby Bertha. In addition to 3/32" balsa sheet, this kit also requires a NCB60-DW balsa nosecone. Included are instructions, fin patterns and all the decals needed to build your own Iron Wombat.
